The guideline for the course is “Content, Culture, Social”. The intensive schedule allows for serious varied practical work (Exercises, analytical methods, panels, discussions etc..), specific cultural aspects of the region (protocol, security aspects etc..) and social (receptions, official lunch etc..)
The Defence and Diplomacy course focuses on the international aspects of the military, defence and security aspects of diplomacy. It is a pre-deployment practical training for country representatives dealing with security issues, primarily designed for Defence Attachés as complementary to the national training.
Learning objectives
Future practitioners with the right background in the right position enabled with the right skills.
Typical participants are government officials: military officers or civilians who want/will/are working in the field of Defence Diplomacy, either abroad or in their home country.
Participants should cover their transportation and hotel costs. Meals mostly covered by the GCSP. A course fee of CHF 100.- can be asked for in some locations. The GCSP reserves the right to modify the programme dates, location and fee at any time.
Invitation only. Invitations are sent approx. 6 months in advance to the invited countries. Individual invitations possible upon request.
