The discussions, led by the Assistant-President of CICIR, Dr Zhang Jian, and the Director of GCSP, Ambassador Thomas Greminger, were held in a cordial atmosphere, even though they reflected different views on some issues. The delegations mainly addressed the humanitarian dimensions of the war in Ukraine and international efforts to de-escalate the conflict, during their rich and candid exchanges.

The GCSP continues its mission of holding discussions like these to share ideas, knowledge and experiences on important global developments, to improve understanding between security actors in different regions, and to generate creative approaches and policy options for addressing security challenges.
