The eight-month LISC began in October 2018 and is designed to increase the knowledge and skills of high performing professionals who seek to enhance their career and engage in leadership positions in solving the world’s most pressing security challenges.

For 2018-2019, the GCSP welcomed 22 participants from 19 countries, including Ghana and Niger for the first time. They represented six government ministries, international organisations, the private sector, academia, and civil society.

Participants also took part in the concurrent Master of Advanced Studies in International and European Security, jointly run with the Global Studies Institute of the University of Geneva, and we were delighted to have 15 MAS graduates with us last week.

The LISC graduation ceremony was opened by Ambassador Christian Dussey, GCSP Former Director (2013-2021), and the MAS ceremony by Professor René Schwok, Director of the Global Studies Institute of the University of Geneva, and was followed by the handover of the certificates and diplomas. The ceremony concluded with a participant farewell address on behalf of the 2018-2019 class.

We wish the graduates of 2018-2019 continued success in their future endeavours and look forward to our continued relationship with them through the GCSP Alumni Association and events.
