Leaders in the 21st century are increasingly facing tough decisions. Disruption, uncertainty and volatility in the areas of international peace and security cause society to reflect on where it is heading. The Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP) believes in equipping current and future leaders to work sustainably while achieving real impact.

The GCSP welcomed 22 new participants from 22 countries across the globe to the 34th edition of its eight-month Leadership in International Security Course (LISC). This year, the course includes participants from Canada, Kenya, Mongolia and the United Arab Emirates for the first time.

Military officers, diplomats, members of academia, IOs, NGOs, civil society and the private sector have all come together to enhance their leadership capacity and to engage in critical decision-making to address the world’s most pressing security challenges.

The course emphasises the “GCSP Way” of learning, in which practitioners, academics and participants come together to share knowledge, promote sustainable security solutions and work collaboratively across cultures, organisations and professional domains.

Through the LISC, participants also have the opportunity to undertake the Master of Advanced Studies in International and European Security (MAS), jointly run by the GCSP and the Global Studies Institute (GSI) of the University of Geneva.
