SEVEN on tour Geneva
On Thursday 14 June, the GCSP together with many partners, is bringing SEVEN to the United Nations for the first time. This major event will be opened by a powerful performance by world-renowned opera singer Barbara Hendricks.
'The play powerfully portrays the transformative way the seven courageous women have changed their societies for the better - from peace building, to fighting corruption to combating violence against women.'
Hilary Clinton
#7onTourGeneva will build on the momentum of the '#MeToo Movement' to help our community push for change internally to 'walk the talk.' We will amplify the work already being done to fight harassment, abuse and sexist attitudes that prevent us from embracing our diversity and harnessing our collective intelligence.
The #MeToo campaign has highlighted the widespread presence of sexual harassment, and power structures which limit reporting and behavioural change. Members of our community in International Geneva are already working hard to make our Assemblies harassment-free, to challenge sexist attitudes, and to create spaces for diverse voices to be heard within the United Nations.
We invite you, your colleagues and friends to join us in a movement to create more Safe Spaces. Let us build a culture of respect and accountability, and advance dignity for all.
