Leadership for Peace – Operationalising the findings and recommendations of the Geneva Peace Week
Part of the Geneva Peace Week
The overall theme for the Geneva Peace Week 2021 is “From Seeds to Systems of Peace: Weathering Today’s Challenges”, within which four areas of inquiry will be explored in some 30 interactive online workshops and sessions, and through the development and dissemination of some 30 digital productions. The four focus areas are the following:
- Creating a climate for collaboration: Ways forward for environment, climate change, and peace
- Moving beyond securitization: What risks (and new horizons) for peacebuilding
- Harnessing the digital sphere for peace
- Confronting inequalities and advancing inclusion, peace, and SDG16
The purpose of this session is to pull together the results and outcomes generated during GPW 2021 through the four work strands, by linking these results to a conversation on what type of leadership is required to effectively promote the operationalisation and implementation of the GPW 2021’s findings and recommendations.
Organisers and partners for the Leadership for Peace session:
Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP), International Leadership Association (ILA), Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI), Palantir Technologies Australia, and Peace Messenger Liberia.
