Academic-Level Discourse on the Turkic World: Exploring Opportunities for Cooperation
- A light lunch will be served from 12:00 onwards.
The Permanent Mission of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the UN Office and other International Organizations in Geneva, the Permanent Mission of the Kyrgyz Republic to the UN Office and other International Organizations in Geneva in the capacity as the Chairmanship of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), together with the Geneva Centre for Security Policy and the University for Peace are organizing an academic-level discourse dedicated to the Turkic world.
Turkic peoples, spanning a large geographical area in Eurasia, preserved over centuries their close ties based on deep historical roots, cultural and linguistic commonalities. In the past decades cooperation among Turkic States has gained an institutionalized form. In 2021 this cooperation saw a new milestone when the Turkic Council transformed into the OTS. Today the OTS not only provides a platform for cooperation among Turkic peoples in the wide range of areas, but also has a great potential to make a significant contribution to peace, security and sustainable development in the wider Eurasian geography.
The discourse will provide an opportunity to introduce Geneva-based academic and expert community to advantages and potential of cooperation with OTS members and partners.
