Professor Anatol Lieven is an Associate Fellow within the Global Fellowship Initiative of the GCSP. Professor Anatol Lieven is a professor at the campus of Georgetown University in Doha, Qatar and a visiting professor in the War Studies Department of King’s College London. Her is also a senior fellow of the New America Foundation in Washington D.C. Anatol Lieven’s latest book, Pakistan: A Hard Country, was published in April 2011 by Penguin in the UK and Public Affairs in the US. An updated version of his study of American political culture, America Right or Wrong: An Anatomy of American Nationalism, was published in September 2012 by Oxford University press. Anatol Lieven spent most of his career as a British journalist in South Asia and the former Soviet Union, and is author of several books on the latter region including Chechnya: Tombstone of Russian Power? and Ukraine and Russia: A Fraternal Rivalry.
