Natalia Alvarez is currently serving as an Executive-in-Residence Fellow in the GCSP's Global Fellowship Initiative, bringing over two decades of expertise in the private sector, primarily within the global reinsurance industry. She specializes in designing high-impact programs, fostering strategic partnerships, and creating client engagements that drive growth and innovation.
Most recently at Swiss Re, Natalia leveraged thought leadership to connect with clients and lead bespoke executive education programs addressing critical global challenges, including economic volatility, climate change, natural catastrophes, health crises, and geopolitical risks. With a focus on resilience, emerging risks, and the evolving impact of technology on risk management, she aligned these complex issues with organizational strategies to help clients navigate the increasingly unpredictable risk landscape. By positioning companies at the forefront of these critical conversations, she not only strengthened client relationships but also cemented their leadership in managing and mitigating high-impact global risks.
Her career began with an insurance trade association in Washington, DC, which represented the American insurance industry on the global stage. In this capacity, she collaborated with government institutions, international organizations, and industry associations to foster strategic alliances and shape policies that enabled business growth.
Natalia’s commitment to fostering inclusive work cultures has been a defining element of her professional journey, driving both organizational success and employee empowerment. Her strategic contributions to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives have strengthened internal engagement, seamlessly aligned with broader organizational goals, and created environments where individuals and teams thrive. She holds an MBA in Finance and Marketing from the University of Miami. A multilingual professional, Natalia is a native Spanish and English speaker and fluent in French, Portuguese, and German, enabling her to connect seamlessly across diverse cultures and contexts.
At GCSP, Natalia is leveraging her expertise to drive transformative solutions in financial inclusion, impact investing, DEI and resilience, championing multilateralism and strategic partnerships for long-term, sustainable impact.
