Mr Xavier Colin is an Associate Fellow within the Global Fellowship Initiative of the GCSP. Xavier Colin was born on the 24th of October 1951 in Nancy. He's married and father of three children. In 1974, he obtained his diploma at the CFJ (Centre de Formation des Journalistes) in Paris. He worked for Europe 1 for 13 years, notably as a foreign correspondent in Beirut, before joining the RTS in 1987 at the international rubric.
From 1992 until 1994, he was editor-in-chief and presenter of the TJ-Midi, alterning with Roland Bhend and Muriel Siki. From 1996 until 2004, he was chief of the international rubric of the TJ and, since 1999, he was also president of the Editorial Committee of the Information Services Department of the European Broadcasting Union (EBU).
At the RTS, Xavier Colin has covered the Swiss hostages in Lebanon, The Gulf War, 9/11 and the 2000 and 2004 US elections.
From January until June 2005, he produced and presented "Photos de Famille". He then joined the editorial-in-chief of the news programme of TV5 Monde in Paris, which he later left after a year to come back working for the RTS. Since 30 April 2008, Xavier Colin presents GEOPOLITIS.
