Mr Laurent Sierro

Mr Laurent Sierro is an Executive-in-Residence within the Global Fellowship Initiative of the GCSP. He is the United Nations Correspondent in Geneva for the Swiss News Agency (Keystone-ATS), covering the whole « International Geneva», and a former Vice-President of the Geneva Association of United Nations Correspondents (ACANU). Laurent Sierro has been working for more than 20 years for Keystome-ATS, previously as international reporter, newsroom coordinator and economic correspondent in Geneva. He was also the Swiss correspondent for the french weekly Courrier international between 2004 and 2011. He graduated in journalism from the Ecole Supérieure de journalisme (ESJ) and in diplomacy and strategic studies from the Ecole des hautes études internationales in Paris. He's also a former student of the MA in geopolitics from the University of Marne-la-vallée. Aside from his mandates, he contributed to several Swiss and foreign publications (Le Monde, Slateafrique, la Cité...). His various stories brought him to numerous countries and territories like the Gaza strip, Democratic republic of Congo (DRC), Ukraine or Bosnia and Herzegovina. He is a member of the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) in London. A former Transatlantic Media Fellow at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in Washington, he's also been a member of the Transatlantic Media Network of this institution, an initiative later moved to the Atlantic Council. He's been consulted by several foreign medias and was invited as a guest speaker in several American universities. He published in 2016 « Les Nuits américaines: au coeur de la diversité politique, économique et sociale des Etats-Unis » at Editions Georg in Geneva.
