Mr Ian Horuzhiy
Position(s) Executive-in-Residence Fellow at the GCSP

Ian Horuzhiy holds a Master of Advanced Studies in International Security from the University of Geneva and a Master’s degree in Economics with Honors from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.

From 2019 to 2020, he worked with Swiss Timing, overseeing software development of scoring and timing systems for the Olympic Games. Between 2020 and 2023, Ian led initiatives at Ukraine's Ministry of Digital Transformation to orchestrate affordable and efficient citizen access to state services while addressing corruption risks.

Ian is currently based in Geneva and is involved with EPFL Innovation Park and the Open Quantum Institute. He contributes to the advancement of the Swiss innovation ecosystem, with a particular focus on cybersecurity and emerging quantum technologies.

Ian is fluent in Russian, Ukrainian, and English, and is currently learning French and German. His key interests include geopolitics, resource policy, international economics, and the shifting dynamics of global alliances.
