Mr Eden Cole is an Executive-in-Residence within the Global Fellowship Initiative of the GCSP. Currently Executive-in-Residence at the Geneva Centre for Security Policy and co-founder of Raidillon Associates, Eden consults and writes on security governance issues, including combating maritime trafficking, security sector oversight, and security advisory on humanitarian action issues. Eden has designed and commissioned best practice guidance on democratic governance challenges, most recently on capacity development for national human rights institutions on monitoring law enforcement and intelligence services. Experienced with managing programming on defence, law enforcement, and intelligence reform issues, Eden has previously cooperated with NATO, OSCE, ODIHR, the Pacific Islands Forum, Transparency International, UNDP, and UNODC. Eden has implemented programmes funded by DDPS and DFAE Switzerland, as well as the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands and Norway. With programme management experience in Asia Pacific and Europe, Eden was previously Deputy Head of the Eastern Europe, Central Asia and Caucasus Division at DCAF where he worked on security governance programming in the former Soviet Union. Eden has also worked in the private sector focused on international corporate finance issues. Eden holds a BA and MA from the University of London. He is a member of the International Institute for Strategic Studies and the UNDP Global Policy Network Express Roster for Rapid Response.
