Ms Elisabeth Decrey Warner is an Associate Fellow within the Global Fellowship Initiative of the GCSP. Elisabeth Decrey Warner was a member of the Parliament of the Republic and Canton of Geneva from 1989-2001; she was elected its rotating President in 2000. Founder of the NGO, Geneva Call and its executive president until the end of 2017, for over two decades, she led negotiations with armed non-State actors on the protection of civilians in armed conflict by respecting humanitarian and human rights laws. She has been recognized internationally for her outstanding contribution to peace. She was nominated for Switzerland as one of 1000 Women for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2005. Among her many awards, she received the highest recognition in France, Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur, an Honorary Doctorate by the University of Geneva and the Hessian Peace Prize in Germany. Mrs. Decrey Warner has been a member of several Boards and Advisory Boards, among them the Geneva Centre for the Democratic Control of Armed Forces (DCAF) and the Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD). She is currently an Associate Fellow at the Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP), member of the board of "Leaders pour la Paix" - Paris - as well as a board member of Terre des Hommes – Suisse.
