Dr Lautens has joined the GCSP as an Executive-in-residence Fellow in January 2024. He has extensive experience in a variety of sectors, including management, marketing, sales, as well as scientific research.
Before joining the GCSP, he was the General Manager of the Geneva Golf Club, where he worked for two decades. In these endeavours, he meaningfully contributed to the development and modernising of the club, while overseeing consistent project budgets. He also organised major tournaments, including the Trophée du Golf Club de Genève. Finally, he committed to and implemented a sustainability programme.
Prior to this, Dr Lautens worked in sales for an industrial company, taking care of a variety of sales portfolios, namely Europe, the United States, Asia, South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand, consolidating distribution networks in these countries and fostering the company’s marketing strategy.
Dr Lautens has an early career in academia, where he contributed to scientific research as a member of the “Fonds National pour la Recherche Scientifique” (FNRS), working on the impact of foreign labour force on the Swiss market.
He previously was an Assistant Professor at the University of Geneva, Department of Economics.
Dr Lautens holds a PhD in Economics with a thesis on bank lending and the international debt crisis.
