Building Capacity for Effective Implementation of the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) – A Virtual Learning Journey 2023
This course explains the obligations and implications of being a State Party to the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) and improves capacities to implement it with the aim of promoting a responsible arms trade and preventing illicit trafficking in arms.
Responsible arms trade requires in-depth knowledge and effective implementation of the prohibitions and obligations under international law regarding the international transfer of conventional arms that may be destabilizing or cause human suffering.
This course benefits from the expertise of world-class practitioners and analysts and prepares participants for hands-on practical cases.

Course requirement

This course is primarily directed at:
- government decision-makers in the field of conventional arms trade regulation,
- legal advisors involved in conventional arms trade regulation as well as,
- staff of government arms trade licensing agencies.
Priority will be given to applicants from states that are parties to or signatories of the Arms Trade Treaty.
