Defense and security policy professionals as well as members of the Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP) Alumni Hub Greece gathered in Athens to explore critical regional security challenges. The event, hosted by the Swiss Ambassador to Greece, Mr Stefan Estermann, and organised by the Swiss Defense Attachée, LTC Laurence Boillat, delved into the geostrategic trends shaping areas such as the Black Sea, Balkans, East Mediterranean, Middle East, Red Sea, and North Africa, with a focus on their impact on Greece.

Under the title "The Evolution of the Greek Armed Forces: Agenda 2030," keynote speaker Lieutenant General (HAF ret.) Ioannis Anastasakis, Chairman of the Athens Alumni Hub of GCSP, shared his insights on the necessity for strategic transformation within Greece's defense framework.

Attendees included Defense Attachés from Europe, the USA, and Australia, alongside representatives from the Greek Armed Forces, diplomats, and other prominent figures such as the President of the Athens-based "Acropolis" Center of Excellence.

The event fostered an engaging exchange of perspectives on the region's current trends and the interplay of bilateral and multilateral relations, highlighting the collective drive toward enhanced peace, security, and mutual understanding.
